Report Out of Season Fishing

To report poaching, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. Please note:

  • The location of the boat / fishermen
  • A description of the boat and its occupants
  • The license number of the boat
  • Details about what was being caught

Poacher Watcher Program

This program was initiated to involve lake residents in the fight against fish poaching. Volunteer residents will report alleged offenses to the Ministry of Natural Resources Conservation Officers. Poacher Watchers will be given instructions on what types of information they must take down in order to report the alleged offense.

Fish and Wildlife Guardian Program

The Ontario Government, Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) sponsors a Fish & Wildlife Guardian program. This program was created in 1999 to train volunteers as the "eyes and ears" of conservation officers. To learn more about this program visit the MNR Guardians web page.
